Please would you pray for:

HAITI - We all know the situation after the devastating earthquake.  We've seen the pictures and the need is for us all to keep up with the news and to continue to pray for food, water, medical care, supplies and for Christians who will show the love of Jesus to them.

Rev. Clive Doubleday our dear friend from 'Smile Int' who has now finished his Chemotheropy for Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma.  We have heard the cancer cells are gone from his system and he now needs to fully recover energy and strength to continue the incredible work he, Ruth and the team do around the globe.  Thank you.

Norway - Tromso Baptist Church as they seek to reach out to their community.  For growth both numerically and Spiritually and for the Lord to bring in new believer's and many that are seeking.  For the few members to build meaningful relationships with many not-yet-believers!

Us - for health, wisdom and continued guidance as we seek to do the Lord's will.

Finances - We still need improved finances to take care of the bills while we are away working with the poor and needy at home and abroad, please would you pray for that too.

Thank you for standing with us as together we aim to touch many for our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit.  Eph 3:16 (NLT)

Every blessing - love Steve & Jan  x x

Hi All,

Had a wonderful month working in Uganda.
The Holy Spirit truly anointed everything in the services as we led worship, preached and sung to many people several times a week.

The team we were leading did an amazing job with the children and the girls all worked together very well.  Thanx guys!!!
Its very hard to get online there 'cos no electric at times.
We had no electric or water at ther house for 2 days at a time so hard to wash and see!!!  lol
Last week (Sunday evening) we were ministering in a village 2 hours away and 2 men gave their lives to Christ!!!  Praise the Lord....
We have had testimonies of healings through our services and salvation for at least 4 people!!!  Ministry here is very powerful...

It is truly awesome every day to be with these incredible people who love and trust the Lord so much!!!
Each week we led the worship team in new songs and then ministered to them through the Word and testimony...  The Lord has also given us new songs in Luganda which are going over very well and we're experiencing a true anointing in the worship and as we preach.

We may have had a major impact on them but they sure had an even greater, unbelievable impact on us.

We loved being with them all as they demonstrate Acts 2:42-47 in a very real way.

If only all worship teams could be so set on supporting one another and  building each other up as they do what a powerful Church we would have around the world!
As you can probably tell we loved it with the worship team and they have all become incredible friends.  Stay in touch guys!

Please consider helping us raise the funds needed to return again next year where we believe the Lord wil expand the work even further with TV and Radio opportunities already confirmed.  This will help raise the profile of the people who live around Kampala, improving the lives of thousands of children and adults every day and giving us a voice into the hearts of many thousands with the gospel message.

Thank you and be blessed

Our recent trip to the Arctic was a great success in many ways.  Tromso is situated 380 miles north of the Arctic Circle and is part of the most northerly tip of Norway.  We worked in the Baptist Church leading youth, young people and adult meetings for 7 days.  The pastor David and his wife linn are a wonderful young couple who have a difficult task.  The church has around 30 people on a Sunday but many more during the week.  It seems to be that Norwegians prefer to be out on the ski slopes or trekking through the forests at the weekend.  Many do not attend church but do go to various group activities during the week.  Our dear friend Rev. Clive Doubleday (Smile International) plus two others was with us and while we ministered they were raising £5,000 by trekking for 10 Km per day for 2 days.  As Clive was looking through the pictures of the trip he had this to say.

It brought back the wonderful memories of the fantastic week we had and I just thank God for the beautiful weather, lovely food and the fellowship we enjoyed with folks at Tromso Baptist Church. Thank you once again for all your ministry during that week which I know was a blessing to so many.

Check out our NEW Arctic video for more info, footage of the countryside and hear personal testimony from David about the impact that was had.
We have been invited to return early in 2010 for a longer stay so that we can teach and train the church on issues such as worship and community evangelism.  They are a great group of people, please pray for them as they seek God’s plan for them to be Jesus where they are.

We are now preparing for our work in Uganda where we will be for 1 month starting 21st July.  We are heading up several teams for 2 weeks at a time, working with the Stephen Jota Children Home plus outreach and services for the local churches around Kampala City.  Please pray for many to come to faith as we intend to sing and speak to many thousands at a time not only inside the churches but on a large stage to be erected on the outskirts of a very large slum area.  It will be hot, hard work for all concerned but the potential for reward in lives touched and changed is enormous!  We are so blessed to have Lisa with us again, she is very gifted with children and it makes our work much easier.  Our powerful Uganda video is online if you would like to see something of what we do there.

Please consider how you can be involved with the ministry.  If you cannot come with us why now pray and give a small amount each month for the work to continue.  Without your support none of this would be possible.  Thank you to those who have already taken up the challenge and partner with us in changing lives for eternity.

Be blessed

Reproducing Song Words at Church

Licence: Church Copyright Licence (CCL)

Do you print song sheets, make OHP acetates or store song lyrics on a computer for use with projection systems?

If so, you must first ensure that you have obtained permission from the copyright owner.

However, the prospect of contacting copyright owners each and every time you wish to reproduce one of their songs can be daunting. It was for this reason that CCLI introduced the Church Copyright Licence (CCL), ensuring that copyright owners are properly rewarded for the use of their work and giving churches the freedom to use songs without the hassle of having to contact many different copyright owners.

Using your CCL:

  • Copyright lines - Each time you reproduce words you must include the following information underneath the song.
[author], © [year, owner], [your licence number] eg.
Fred Smiley, © 2007 Happy Music Ltd., CCL Licence No. 123456

If you have made a service sheet/book, you only need to include author, date and owner details underneath each song with the following acknowledgement somewhere in the sheet/book.

All songs covered by CCLI have been reproduced under the CCL Licence No. [your licence number].

  • Reporting - Under the Terms & Conditions of your licence you are also required to report which song lyrics you reproduce. Click here for CopyReport.
  • Contact Details - As your licence is held by your church you are required to provide CCLI with contact details so we can contact you with updates to your licence.

Playing Music at Church

Do you play background music or invite bands/choirs to perform in your church?

If so, you must first ensure that your church premises are licensed for music performance, since permission is required from the copyright owner whenever music is played in a public setting.  this includes live performances and pre-recorded music.

As an agent to the PRS for Music CCLI can provide churches with a licence to use music in a wide variety of activities.

  • Background music for coffee mornings, parent and toddler groups, youth and outreach events, and activities such as fetes and bazaars.
  • Concerts and recitals (limited to six concerts per year)
  • Discos and dances
  • Keep fit or dance classes
  • Karaoke sessions
  • Singing/dancing games on a games console

23rd – 30th March Tromso - 200 miles North of the Arctic Circle

The Tromso Baptist church is the most northerly Baptist church in the world.
The sun doesn’t rise above the horizon for 3 months of the year.
We have received reports that a large percentage of the young people are depressed. There is nothing to do, so many are turning to drink and drugs.

Part of the aim is for us to encourage the younger Christians and go into the nightclubs to get alongside those who have not yet come to faith.

We will be encouraging the church.  Preaching, teaching, leading worship, evangelistic concert.

A scripture was given to Jan in a dream just recently……Zechariah 6:8  Then he called to me.  “Look those going toward the north country have given my Spirit rest in the land of the north.”
It is our belief that the Lord is preparing the way before we even arrive and that He, seeing the bigger picture, will pour out His Sprit as we faithfully minister in the North.
We have never been to the Arctic before and once again find ourselves stepping into the unknown but after receiving this scripture we are very excited and can’t wait to see what God is going to do.
